This is a very old Japanese low table. It is from the Meiji period (1860s-1900s). It was carved from a large zelkova tree. It is dynamic and powerful.

The greyish color and the grain of the zelkova wood are very beautiful. It would be quite difficult to produce furniture from such a large zelkova tree today. It is a masterpiece that you will never find again.

Weight: circa 40kg.
